County Recorders

Some counties have local ‘county beetle recorders’, who have access to a reasonably complete and up-to-date list of species records for their area, and should be able to advise when a record is new for a county or vice-county. They may not be able, or willing, to check identifications. Recorders now much prefer e-mail. If you are still using the postal service, it is courteous to enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope if you require an acknowledgement. Offers (???TO WHOM???) to fill currently vacant positions will be appreciated. It would help if recorders could liaise with each other to agree their respective boundaries (vice-county boundaries are recommended).
