Description

Length: 2.5-3.5mm.  Basic colour: black.  Pattern: four orangey-red spots.  Number of spots: 4. Pronotum: black with cream anterior margin.  Head colour: black and red.  Leg colour: reddish-brown with black femora.  Other features: hairy; tibia broad, paddle-shaped; head pale (male), black (female).

Biology

Habitats: dry, sandy and chalky habitats occupied by ants. Host plants: low-growing vegetation in association with ants. Food: aphids. Overwintering sites: unknown.
