Description

Length: 1.3-2.3mm.  Basic colour: black.  Pattern: two elongate reddish-brown ill-defined patches, which are variable in shape.  Number of spots: 2. Pronotum: black.  Head colour: black.  Leg colour: light to dark brown.  Other features: hairy.

Biology

Habitats: undisturbed grassland, dunes, heathland, bogs, deciduous woodland. Host plants: low-growing vegetation. Food: mealybugs and aphids. Overwintering sites: low herbage, leaf litter and moss.
