Description

Size: 8.5-11mm
Basic colour: Black or very dark brown
Pronotoum: Narrowed and convex in front, rather flat and slightly depressed inside the sharp, almost rectangular hind angles. Foveae shallow, finely punctured, usually also with some punctures between these and hind angles.
Leg colour: Black with paler tarsi.

Biology

Status: Scarce. Local in southern England and south Wales.
UKBAP Species: Yes
Habitat: Dunes and sandy grassland.
Other notes: Eighth elytral interval with a row of two to five fine sub-apical punctures. Apical abdominal segment with fine ventral pubescence. Wings present.
