Size: 22-26mm
Basic colour: Coppery or greenish metallic.
Pronotoum: Wide, sides contracted basally with side borders and hind angles clearly raised almost to level of disc.
Confusion species: Carabus violaceus

Status: Widespread but scarce. No post-1900 records from Ireland.
