Size: 2.2-3mm
Basic colour: Brownish to blackish
Pattern colour: Pale bands and patches of pubescence

Leg colour: Orange, hind legs partly darkened

Major pest of stored legumes. Originally Asian, now cosmopolitan.

Biology

Status: Occasional and scattered records related to imported/stored pulses plus a few 'wild' records on umbellifers.
Habitat: Usually storage facilities, possibly outdoors nearby or on umbellifers
Host plant: Pulses/legumes
Overwintering: In storage facilities; unable to breed in the wild in Britain.
Food: Stored pulses/beans.
