Description

Size: 1.8-3.1mm
Basic colour: Blackish or brownish
Pattern colour: Pale patches of pubescence
Number of spots: Variable number/shape of patches.
Pronotoum: As basic colour/pattern
Leg colour: Front and middle pair orange, hind pair dark

Western Palaearctic.

Biology

Status: Widespread in the southern half of England; scattered in Wales.
Habitat: Various; natural and modified.
Host plant: Various Fabaceae
Overwintering: Unknown although there are occasional records of adults in winter.
Food: Larvae on host seeds; adults probably pollen-feeders.
