Description

Size: 5.8-7.3mm
Basic colour: Shining dark bronze or coppery, strongly microsculptured.
Pronotoum: Strongly transverse.
Leg colour: Black.

Biology

Status: Known from a single breeding site in Suffolk and a single record from Kent. Also known from Lough Neagh, northern Ireland but not recorded since 1923.
UKBAP Species: Yes
Habitat: On bare sand near fresh water.
Other notes: Head shining between the frontal furrows which are strongly bent round orbital seta. Elytra with all striae more or less straight except where third stria is bent out around the silver spots.
